Innovation Summit: Finding disruptive technologies for treating patients with chronic diseases at home
September 23, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Innovation Skåne welcomes you and your colleagues to an Innovation Summit on finding disruptive technologies for treating patients with chronic diseases at home. Listen to speakers with different backgrounds and aspects of the topic, together with open discussion groups after the program
Within healthcare today, focus is currently shifting towards moving care to patients’ home environment, in order to lower cost and at the same time improve quality of life. This shift is made possible by combining new, as well as existing technologies, and moving them into a new industry, opening up a whole new range of possibilities.
If these opportunities are to be successfully realized, we are to face several challenges. For example, products and services, as well as equipment and patient monitoring, must be adapted to a non-hospital environment where the user most likely does not have medical training.
The products and services needed to deliver advanced healthcare at home will have to be different, but not more expensive than currently available products focused on clinic use. Meanwhile, the patients must accept the added burden, and maybe most importantly – feel comfortable with treating themselves.
With this, we want to address the issues mentioned, and more importantly, to inspire the participants to think outside the box and potentially combine technologies traditionally not applied to the healthcare area to meet the increasing demands of home care.
